catchers mitt

Catchers need a special piece of equipment to perform their role effectively by giving the pitcher a large target to aim for. A catcher’s mitt is larger than a regular baseball mitt and has more padding. After buying a new mitt, take time to break it in so that it becomes supple and flexible. You should be able to move your fingers easily toward your palm in a claw-like motion.

Good quality catchers mitt are generally more expensive than a regular baseball mitt. Choose from materials such as a finest steer hide to cheaper grades of leather if you are short on budget. To make the right decision, ask for advice from other catchers and from a trusted staff at your favorite sporting goods store.
