Being the great American sport, baseball is interesting to a lot of people. They love to watch games and read about baseball trivia such as the player who hit a 643 foot home run for the longest home run ever recorded (Mickey Mantle); or, the team who won the most World Series (the Yankees). It is interesting to start a baseball league in your neighborhood if you still don’t have one. A recreational baseball game is a way to spend time with friends and stretch the muscles for some exercise. It can even be more important for the young so they can learn the basics of healthy competition and teamwork.

It usually is not a problem to get people interested. Once a group is formed and a place to play is identified, the next thing to do is complete the equipment that will be needed. You will need some funding to do this, so enlist the cooperation of parents, businesses and other members of the community. In terms of equipment you will need baseball bases for the field; bats, balls, gloves, and safety gear for the team and uniforms for each member. Being a new team, you will definitely need lots of training but with patience and perseverance it won’t be long before you win your first game.
