Youth football facemasks are designed for specific positions and helmet models. There are different designs for quarterbacks and interior lineman. These are available in two types: open and close cage. The open cage has better visibility so it’s preferred by wide receivers, quarterbacks, defensive backfield players and running backs because it only has 2 to 3 horizontal bars and no vertical bar above the nose.
