Basically, playing shuffleboard involves sliding or shuffling 8 metal weights over a highly polished playing field. Four of the weights are red while the other four are blue. This is to distinguish teams or opponents. The goal is to outdo the other team by sliding your weights farther into the shuffleboard court scoring area than your opponent’s weight.
You have to dislodge the other team’s weights or pass them. In the basic two-handed game, both players stand at the same end of the court. The opponents take turns shooting weights until all 8 have been thrown. The first player to score 15 points wins. When more than 3 players are involved, the first to get 21 points win.

If you want to win your next baseball game, make sure you will be playing with the right glove. How do you find the precise glove for you? Follow these tips:
~What position will you be playing? Buy a catchers mitt if you are the catcher or a different type of mitt depending if you are a baseman, a fielder or the pitcher. Ensure you get the proper size and fit. ~Look at the mitt’s web. A solid web will serve its purpose well when you’ll need a sun shield while catching fly balls. ~Gauge what performs best for you – an open back or closed back. This is a matter of personal choice and comfort. Open backs keep players a little cooler and has an adjustable wrist strap. Closed backs are a little more solid, offer less breathing room but give more support. ~Consider your budget. You may want to steer clear of huge brand names and settle for small, but also well known, manufacturers that offer the same quality at more reasonable prices.

Improve your child’s golf swing by providing him the right sized equipment. The correct kind of youth golf clubs is very important in developing young golfers’ skills. Most of the time, handling down an adult club to a young person is not advisable. A bigger club will be too long, too heavy and too stiff for a junior golfer.
Here are some useful tips when buying a youth golf club:
~Let your child grip down on the club with an inch or two to spare. This will allow him to grow into the club and save you from buying another one just a few months later.
~Find a flexible shaft for beginners. Youth swings are not yet real fast and a shaft flex will help a kid get the ball in the air. As he gets better at faster swings, only then should you start looking into stiffer shafts.
~Be reminded that the first few years of golf are important on how a golfer will turn out in later years. So make sure your child gets the right equipment to start with.

As a mom to two active boys, it’s quite a challenge keeping track of all their schedules. The back of our car is filled with football and archery equipment constantly shuttled in between games and practice. Then there are doctors’ appointments, PTA meetings, and school fairs. Thankfully, none of them have yet been injured while playing or gotten really ill.
My boys keep me hectic, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I want them to have fun while they’re young and be at play always. I also wanted them to try everything they can while they’re young. I want them to explore and learn, so they can find out what they really want to do. I believe that by doing so, I am helping them shape themselves into what they want to achieve for themselves.

A lot of people enjoy playing baseball. Some enjoy playing on their school teams and some just gather up their friends for a friendly game. They all have their gloves, balls and bats so they can throw, catch and hit the ball. The catcher always has special equipment among the other players. He or she will need a mask, chest protector, shin guards, and a catchers mitt.
Catchers mitts are different from ordinary baseball gloves. They have a pocket that catches the ball perfectly. They have added padding for protection from strong throws. They are uniquely shaped so the catcher can easily grab the ball for the throw to second base.
