This peaked at over 220 new models sometime in 1998. They come up with updated models twice a year.

G-shock watches are now collector’s items. The most sought after model is the Frogman. The Frogman is a high-end model of the Casio G-shock line of watches. The Frogman has an asymmetric shape and is also attached asymmetrically on its straps. It is specially made as a diving watch for scuba diving and is the only ISO 6425-compliant G-Shock line with a 200 m water resistance rating. The Frogman became very popular among G-Shock collectors and many special editions were released.
