track and field equipment

My son recently made it to the track and field team in his school. I was so proud because he has overcome many obstacles to get this far. He was diagnosed with ADHD when he was 7 years old. I got him into sports under the advice of our doctor that we find him an outlet for his extra energy.

We started out with little league baseball, but he had difficulty concentrating on staying on the base when the other players came out to bat. Basketball was also hard because he couldn’t focus on his coaches’ instructions during the game. But all his coaches told me one thing: he could run. So we went to a sports clinic for track and field in our local state, and he trained there for a year with official track and field equipment. Now, he is one of his Junior High’s best track and field athletes. He has never been happier and more diligent with his schoolwork. Dedication does pay off.
